"Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2008 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 29 million cars — all while saving $19 billion on their utility bills."

"From an environmental standpoint, there are several advantages to  Icynene. First and foremost is the absence of any ozone-depleting chemicals. Water serves as the foaming agent, reacting with the other components to generate CO2, which expands the foam. Second, Icynene has a very low density, one-quarter that of conventional closed-cell polyurethane. As a result, less petroleum-based material is required in its manufacture. Third, it is effective at sealing air leaks."
